234 CHP officers have lost their lives in the line of duty since 1929.  Our officers risk their lives daily protecting our community and state.  The Santa Maria Area has lost three officers in the line of duty.  These brave men sacrificed their lives to protect all those that work, live and visit the Santa Maria Valley.
